Climate Change - We Must Respond Now

As energy healers, our healing goes to clear emotional wounds which can help create physical dysfunction and disease. The same channeling of chi, or life force energy, can heal animals, and several of my students have gone into work communicating and healing animals.

The same healing principle is at work when we send healing to the land. As our NOVA groups have found in spiritual retreats in such places as Ireland, Hawaii and Canada, the land itself has wounds, and the land itself absorbs chi, or life force energy. Who knows, maybe we are reviving techniques used for countless centuries by indigenous peoples.

As we work towards a healed and reenergized world, so some people seem to be putting the natural world in grave danger.

In the recent G20 Summit, 19 nations ratified the Paris accord for global warming. Only one did not - the United States.

Formerly a leader - the leader - of the world in progressive, humanistic change, the leader of scientific thought and innovation, America is now in the backwater. The EPA administrator is now rolling back, delaying or blocking more than 30 environmental rules and regulations.

China, once the world's leading polluter, is now the world leader in alternative fuels.

State governors are now meeting with international leaders to pledge their states' support to the G20 goals of curbing greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.

The breaking off of an immense ice shelf in Antarctica, LarsenC, this week only underlines the urgency. A key United Nations climate official, Frank Bainimarama, prime minister of Fiji, is concerned about the rising ocean waters which threaten the island nations.

As a scuba diver, I know of the vast coral bleaching in the reefs around the world caused by the warming of the ocean waters.

There has been an attitude that we can take and take and take whatever we want from Mother Nature, and she will just give in. A very masculine idea of violation without consequence. I think it is more like we are lighting a match under the foot of a giant. When she kicks, it could be drastic. Her power is immense and I think she could unleash an epic cycle of disaster unless we try to come into balance with her.

As we come into balance with Mother Earth, we are forced to balance ourselves. Maybe that's what we're afraid of.

Please support the organizations that are trying so hard to restore this balance...among them:
